Slice of Bread goes to the Beach

Slice of Bread goes to the Beach is an interactive children’s book avialable for the iPad™, iPhone® and Googleplay from Glenn Melenhorst and Jellybiscuits.

‘After the success of Food Fight, I thought it only natural to follow a sausage story with a bread story:) Actually, Slice of bread was a story I have wanted to tell for a number of years so I’m glad I finally found the time to create the illustrations. I was particularly focused on building interactive elements that were part of the story.’ ~ Glenn Melenhorst

This is another phenomenal book app from Jelly Biscuits, makers of Food Fight!. Like their previous book app by Glenn Melenhorst, this title is fun but also cognizant of the adult reading alongside the child.

Heart-warming and hilarious in equal measure, this book app is solidly made and beautifully animated ….  this is a perfect little read for children and their grown-ups. Highly recommended.

Slice of Bread goes to the Beach is the second beautiful children’s book from Jelly At this point interactive books for children has matured into a market where there is so much product that it’s difficult to tell the wheat from the chaff, so I’m happy to say (getting in the pun at the same time) that Slice of Bread is Wheat and later even Multigrain, but that comes later in the story.

The sumptuous look of the book is due to its illustrator Glenn Melenhorst, a visual effects supervisor at Iloura in Melbourne Australia, and an extremely talented and quirky artist who entered the app store last year with Food Fight! a delightful story about sausage eating boys and boy eating sausages.

Slice of Bread Goes to the Beach is the new title from Jelly Biscuits, the makers of Food Fight. They’ve followed that unique story with another quirky and delightful tale. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect based on the app’s title but after finishing the story I’m charmed.

The illustrations are funny and much of the humor comes in their subtlety and little details.

With Slice of Bread Goes to the Beach, Jelly Biscuits has proved that they are most definitely an innovative and creative storytelling team to watch in the App Store! They also have a knack for making me hungry….

What people who bought it have written…

Need more, Pleeease keep writing books!!! – We all love these books, even the older kids and adults. 😀 After Food Fight, we have been checking all the time, hoping Jelly Biscuits had published other books. We like the interaction, and the voice of the narrator. We would love to see our friend Bread go on to his next adventure, with narrow escapes from death!! 😉 Thanks for the laughs!

Great book – Great book and kids (and i) love the tie in to sammy sausage with the letter in the mailbox

fun book – Great design and interaction

My Son Loved It – This is a great follow-up to the also-excellent Food Fight story. The stories are clever and each page is full of animation. Jelly Biscuits has become one of my favorite ebook publishers on Android. Keep up the good work. The app works great on my Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101.

best interactive kids book for android –

Cute!! – Bought this to read with my nephews and it went down a treat. They loved some of the funnier moments (when bread turns to toast!) and found it really easy to use and navigate themselves. The illustrations were sublime: toaster car in particular made me chuckle. Highly recommended for all!

A “must have” app – Beautiful story, fun animations, worth every cent. Love it!

Great! – I LOVE this book! My 7 year old LOVES this book. Great unique story. Awesome illustration. Fun interactives on each page. We go back to it again and again.

It is totally awesome! – I am typing this review for my 6 yo daughter.”It is totally awesome, awesome, awesome! It is five stars. You can move stuff on it and you can press stuff and read letters! I think it’s cool. You can do interesting stuff. My favorite parts are when you can put the butter on and the magnifying glass and the fan. Get it for your kids. I also like the toaster car where the ball pops up.”My daughter and I thoroughly enjoy this book. It’s a great complement to “Food Fight!”, which we also enjoy. As I read the review to her, my daughter exclaimed, “We love that author!”

I have brought so many kids books for my 3 and 6 years old and this is one of the few books they enjoy and wanted to read it again and again. The story itself is nice and easy to understand and the 3-D interaction is just so cute and fun. I wish there are more books like this one. Highly recommand! ~USA
