How do I access the Music Box Composer saved file location on iOS?

On iOS the local files for MBC can be accessed via iTunes, which is explained by apple here:

http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201301

MBC will appear where the 'keynote' and 'numbers' apps appear in the screenshots on that page, allowing you to copy to and from the apps storage.

Mac App Store 1.2.0 now available

The Mac App Store 1.2.0 version of MBC is now available - this brings this version in line with the Standalone, with the recent 33 note box support added.

(iOS version is still in review).

Re: Time signatures?

Hi The grid spacing is based on the paper strips available for the music boxes, and the spacing is based on the physical construction of the boxes themselves - the same note cannot be played to quickly due to the mechanics of the devices and the 1/4 division displayed is that required spacing, so th...

Re: Apply time crash bug

Hi Applying a tempo of zero shouldn't be supported - that'd be a divide by zero error, I'll updated to fix that. The apply time currently doesn't support selections, I'll also add that in as a feature for a future release (you could scale the entire strip, copy the bit you want, undo the scale and t...

External sound not working on iPad

Midi Import - download first

Hi The Midi import in MBC currently requires the midi file to be local to the App, so if you find a midi file on the internet somewhere you'll need to download it locally and then navigate to it using the MIDI IN option. The URL button is only for loading pre-made strips (It would be more convenient...

How do I access the Music Box Composer saved file location on Android?

Hi

Once you are navigating the device contents, the MBC directory where the strips and other data is saved to/loaded from should be something close to:

Android/data/com.jellybiscuits.mBxComposer/files/

Issues loading strips on Android fixed shortly

Hi

I've tracked down the issue where some android devices were showing an 'invalid link' message when trying to load strips from the website. I'll be posting the fixed build ASAP, likely a couple of days away, I'll post here again when it's available on Google Play.

Re: Midi file import - empty dialog - Android phone

Hi Do the files have the extension '.mid' ? Currently the midi importer filters the file list for *.mid only and would ignore '.midi'. The Android/data/com.jellybiscuits.mBxComposer/files should be the correct location (I've updated that FAQ entry, it missed the 'files' directory) and I confirmed he...
