MAX2020/Vray 5/RPM Latest
I am wanting to use the Vray Cache Manager to easily generate Light Caches and Irradiance Maps... I have not used it before and I think I am doing something fundamentally wrong as it's throwing an error when I try to render the caches. It is doing this on different versions of MAX/Vray/RPM so I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.
Basically, I have a simple scene setup using Vray 5.whatever. All the Irradiance Map and Light Cache settings are setup under Render Settings as though I was going to create the IM and LC manually (and the caches have been created previously, manually). When I open the Vray Cache Manager, all the settings seem to be populated, etc.
But when I hit 'Local Render the Caches' (sorry I don't have my apps open currently to see the proper names), an error is immediately thrown. See the attached images.
Also, I think I know what an 'Ignore' is, maybe what an 'Generator' is but not what a 'Receiver' is. Ideally, on the 'real' pass, the cache settings will be 'From File'. Do I have to have a separate pass which contains the IM and LC generator settings?
I guess I am really not understanding how to use the Vray Cache Manager tool.
Thanks for any enlightenment!
